Judy (Koopman) Mobley, Class of 1972

Judy.PNGSuccessful organizations usually have many unsung heroes. One of the unsung heroes of Monrovia High School is Judy Mobley (Koopman). Judy has worked at Monrovia for 27 years starting out as a general aide at Hall and now doing ECA and bookstore for the high school. Judy graduated from Monrovia in 1972 and is married to Terry Mobley, class of 1968. They have two children that graduated from Monrovia: Nicki,1992 and Josh,1995. They also have two grandchildren that attend MGSD schools, Harley Mobley in 6th grade and Lane Kimmel in 1st.

During Judy’s time at school she was involved in NHS, band and was a class officer for student government.  Her favorite teachers were the iconic Paul Schuler and Virginia Jett. Along with being involved in student activities, Judy ran paper routes with her parents in the morning before school. She woke up and did a paper route from 1:00- 3:00 A.M., went back to bed and then got up for school.  She did the paper route until she was in the 8th grade and then she worked at the “Chicken”. Even with her school activities and work she was still in the top ten of her class.

As parents Judy and Terry were involved in band, with Terry building the famous Knott’s Landing, and Youth League Baseball. Terry and Judy worked with the late Bob Shriver to building the current baseball concession stand and shelter house.
